An annual competition where the world’s best and aspiring photographers, cinematographers and artists showcase their work to a panel of professional judges in front of a live audience at the ADEX Asia Dive Expo.

ADEX Voice of the Ocean 2025 Photo+Video+Art Competition

 

Voice of the Ocean is the photo, video and art competition associated with the flagship Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) in Singapore, the largest and longest-running dive show in Asia. Held from April 4 to 6, 2025, Singapore Ocean Week, ADEX Ocean Festival 2025 culminates in a captivating live judging event, with a prestigious jury choosing the winners and runners-up in the competition categories as well as the “Best of Show” overall winner.

ADEX Ocean Festival 2025 is DEDICATED TO CEPHALOPODS with a CELEBRATION OF MARINE LIFE BEHAVIOUR, and ADEX Voice of the Ocean 2025 includes both “Cephalopods” and “Animal Behaviour” categories. Submissions through UnderwaterCompetition.com will be open between January 1 and March 1, 2025. Entrants will be invited to submit their best work in the following five categories:

 

Animal Behaviour

Any underwater image showing animal behaviour, including (but not limited to) feeding, hunting, fighting, courtship, mating, yawning, and activity at cleaning stations.

 

Cephalopods

Any underwater image involving a member (or members) of the cephalopod family, including the octopuses, squids, cuttlefishes, and nautiluses.

 

Waterscapes

Any image, captured above water, of a natural water body, including (but not limited to) the sea, lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands. Both images shot on land as well as images shot using drones are accepted.

 

Short Film

Any film, five minutes or less in duration, where at least 50 percent of the footage is shot underwater. The remaining footage may be captured on land or from the air, including via drones.

 

Artwork

Any artistic work depicting or inspired by the ocean or other natural water body, created through two-dimensional media such as drawing, painting and printmaking, or mixed media. Digital drawing and painting tools may be used. Artworks must be photographed for submission.
